I prioritize Filipina/x poets for manuscript consultation because too many have told me they never had Pinay creative writing teachers or professors, and very few, if any Filipina/x colleagues to read and provide feedback on their works in progress. This can be unhelpful and unproductive/counterproductive, especially when these works attempt to centralize the complexities of culture, language, migration, diaspora, and history, with family and community as primary addressees. I am open to APIA and BIPOC poets as well, for much of the same reason.
I will read your manuscript, and provide written feedback on individual poems, as well as the whole body and its cohesiveness. I will also provide reading recommendations that could be helpful for your poetic project. We will meet via Google Meet for a one-hour conversation, where you can ask me questions about my feedback, and other things poetry-related.
